Cook Bloomington: My Love of Food

I have two businesses in Bloomington, a Real Estate business and a Design business. I work with RE/MAX Acclaimed Properties and I've been involved in the real estate industry since the mid 80's. My design business, Bloomington Staging & Design is my artistic outlet. But I also have a tremendous love of food. So this is my outlet for that.

I love to cook. In fact I cook almost every night. At the end of a long day, I can't think of anything more relaxing and nurturing than cooking a meal. I hope you feel the same...or learn to. I can't think of any other way to feed your soul and body at the same time. Well, there is Eucharist, so this is my second feast.

Why I write CookBloomington

I love to cook and do so every day. I read endless cookbooks and watch countless cooking shows. I love to take what I read and see and make it my own based on my own palate and, quite frankly, what is available in Bloomington markets.

To add to the equation, I am a pescatarian. I spent years being a devoted vegetarian, but really missed fish and seafood. I have worked very hard to create recipes that are as delicious and as lovely as any that include pork (a mainstay for cooks to add flavor) or any other meat.

So all the recipes in this site are adapted to a meat free diet and all ingredients can be found in Bloomington when in season.

Please feel free to add your comments. This is a work in progress and I hope this will be a useful resource for cooks in Bloomington and beyond. Plus I use this as a resource to remember recipes that I make up on the spot. I have a tendency to forget (which has nothing to do with the occasional martini that I might have before dinner) what I cooked the night before. I say it is because there is always something new,fresh and wonderful at the grocer or at the farmers market to cook the next night.
